Ever gone to a club and wished that you would’ve had the guts to talk to the guy or girl who caught your eye? Or have been hanging out with friends, trying to decide where to go out downtown but between all of you didn’t have a clue where to go or how to get in without paying a cover?

LovinLounge is the answer.

Ever gone to a club and wished that you would’ve had the guts to talk to the guy or girl who caught your eye? Or have been hanging out with friends, trying to decide where to go out downtown but between all of you didn’t have a clue where to go or how to get in without paying a cover?

Founder and President, Greg Godwin used to go out to clubs, only to be inundated with questions ranging from club and event recommendations to doing a bit of reconnaissance on some of the attractive ladies who were at a particular venue. Taking those experiences into consideration, and applying good business sense, he realized that there was no centralized information hub for avid club go-ers in any given area; and that it was difficult for people interested and active in the nightclub scene to stay connected during normal business hours.

In late 2007, LovinLounge was launched and Greg and his partner, David Laurant, have been sharing the love with downtown San Diego ever since. With their ever present photographers snapping pictures of the hottest guys and girls downtown, linking with production companies and club events and positive word of mouth advertising, their client database is thousands strong in a matter of months.

“Our vision is to create an online community for people who enjoy a socially connected lifestyle, but, to create that community in an exclusive way,” said Laurant. “They know that on LovinLounge people are real and are there for the same reason; which means that our client base isn’t diluted and people are there for the right reasons.”

The basic premise of the site is to create an exclusive, trendy online community atmosphere comprised of real people whose lives cross paths because of their interest in going out and having a good time. New members have to be either invited by an already existing member or by a LovinLounge photographer after being snapped at a club. Because of LovinLounge’s diligent customer service and screening process, each user profile is checked to ensure that they actually represent a real person, which leads to good quality members and a more authentic user experience. Members are able to browse other user’s profiles, link photos taken by LovinLounge photographers to their personal profiles, receive emailed event updates and put themselves on the guest list at some of the hottest clubs in the Gaslamp.

“[LovinLounge] is an edgy, young, chic atmosphere that doesn’t really exist in an online community right now,” explained Laurant. “So everyone in our community enjoys the nightlife, that’s what we all have in common, so why not bring all the information to one place.”

Building on the success they’ve experienced in San Diego, LovinLounge has big plans to expand to other major cities nationwide in 2008. With their sights set on the OC, LA, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Miami, the New Year should be big for them.
